The City of Vancouver
Part A: Field Excursion Report of Vancouver City
This report discusses my experience of visiting the city of Vancouver on January 2. I spent a half-day in this area and observed various exciting sites. My tour began at 8:00 a.m. with pickup at the Cruise ship terminal. I grabbed a seat in the cosy coach and was guided through the vibrant seaport city, beginning from Gastown. I then left the urban terrain at 12:15 p.m. for the remarkable 405- hectare Stanley Park where I had a chance to observe hemlock, fir and cedar trees. At 4:00 p.m. I stopped at Prospect Point, the highest peak of the park for superb vistas of Lions Gate Bridge, North Shore Mountains and Burrard Inlet. I concluded my day at 5:30 p.m. with a trip to the Vancouver Lookout atop Harbor Center and admired the grandeur of the majestic Pacific Ocean, the Mountains and the city and back to cruise ship terminal for my return journey. The experience was indeed enjoyable as I observed different geographical features.

My research topic is about the economic development of Vancouver city, which is part of the economic action strategy. The research purpose is to investigate the overall impact of the economic development of Vancouver city on the living standards of the residents. The theoretical lens is economic development, public space and governance and regulation.
