Hence, ensuring proper security culture and protocols is adapted by such vendors is among the best security solutions. Other methods of reducing cyber-threats include tightening the current systems of security in the organization (Services, 2020). It is important for the organization to ensure often checking and verification of their current profiles of security, their forms of design, as well as how they are functioning. It is also vital to make necessary modifications to the existing settings of the security system.

Another way of controlling cyber-threats is through use of patches. Hackers or attackers need a small bug in security system of an organization in order to access the systems. Hence, it is vital to regularly run the security checks in order to verify the entire software is updated. Cyber threats can also be reduced by protecting outbound data. Monitoring the incoming and outgoing traffic on the networks is vital in reducing security breaches. Since the internal traffic is normally protected by a firewall, the outgoing data and network traffic being transferred should be checked for safety. This helps to prevent corrupt staff from releasing sensitive data to external networks.

The organization should also raise awareness on cyber-attacks and threats in its premises. Employees should be educated regarding phishing scams that may look legitimate in emails or other apps. They need to be aware of such risks and be educated on how to avoid falling into such traps. The organization should also ensure data encryption. All databases, sensitive information, and PCs should be encrypted for safety, as well as security of information. Data encryption protects data from being accessed by unauthorized parties.

Chapter 10

Methods that IT leaders can use to help them change their attitude include acquiring good communication skills. IT managers should possess good skills of communication with team members, as well as other employees in the organization. They should also communicate effectively with all levels of management to understand constantly the requirements and have the ability to set the right tasks to the subordinates. Effective communication also enables leaders to identify issues and solve them as required.

IT leaders should also understand various change requirements. They should understand the difference between change requirements and current processes. They should be aware of the benefits and reasons that change could bring for the organization (“The Importance of a Positive Attitude for Team Leaders,” 2020). Strong understanding will enable the IT leaders to adapt to various changes and transform their knowledge to various levels of workers in their best areas.

Team building can also help IT managers change their attitude. Having a strong team is essential for quality work in an organization. Team building by balancing the strengths, weaknesses, skills, knowledge, and abilities of employees can be of assistance to IT leaders. Setting timelines for tasks and being available to offer assistance to the team and explaining all clarifications to workers can change the attitudes of IT leaders in a positive way.

Another method of changing the attitudes of IT managers is through efficient and effective processes of transformation. IT leaders should establish a process of change management for their workers and teams with detailed processes and steps of organizational climate change. The process facilitates answering questions from the workers, which relieves the IT leaders’ burdens that may contribute to negative attitudes.
