Research Proposal: Homelessness and Drug Addiction
In the years of 2017, there were over five hundred thousand homeless citizens of the United States. In the United States and all over the globe, the number of homeless people increases annually, and this problem has a more significant impact on the young population (Neale, 2001). Unfortunately, homelessness and addiction go hand in hand. Homelessness and drug addiction is the subject of this research proposal because drug abuse and lack of homes are rapidly increasing. As a result, it outlines various factors that are essential to control this menace. Implementing effective strategies as solutions to homelessness and drug abuse is vital for the well-being of the young generation. And this is because, on the one hand, the outcome of being homeless is usually drug abuse. On the other hand, drug abuse often contributes to homelessness. What is more, these challenges need solving because they adversely affect specific minority populations.
As a result, the objectives of this research proposal include: to review current factors that promote drug abuse and homelessness. Secondly, to determine factors that accelerate the highly prevalent social inequality. The research will utilize the following terms; sociology, social inequality, discrimination, culture and demography. As a social science researcher, this study will focus on drug abuse and homelessness from a social perspective. And this is because these problems affect most of the racial minorities in Canada, the United States and most parts of the world. Lastly, the primary research methodology for this study will be a literature review and conceptual modelling. In that, there will be an initial review of factors that promote homelessness and drug abuse and their characteristics. Then it will be followed by categorization of constraint factors for identification an
