CVS to hire 50000 workers to deal with coronavirus
In the past five months, the world has experienced a major hit in normal operations courtesy of the coronavirus pandemic. With the origin of the viral outbreak traced to Wuhan China in December of 2019, all global healthcare systems have been shaken to the very core. Healthcare service providers have worked round the clock to combat the outbreak leading to some of these workers losing their lives in the line of duty. In the face of the outbreak, other service providers, donors, and governments have continued to develop enhanced measures to curb the coronavirus spread. CVS is one such retail company that has been actively involved in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
CVS is an American retail and healthcare company with headquarters in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. The company has been very active in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic pulling most of its resources in combating the outbreak. However, the retail healthcare chain has been limited by the increased demand for their services, which has resulted in most employees suffering from burnout. To combat this and ensure that the company can continue providing the people with essential services.
As a result, the retail healthcare chain has decided to hire a new 50,000 members to supplement their current workforce (NY Daily News, 2020). This is aimed at enhancing the efficiency of service delivery to patients in need and also ensure that burnout among the employees is alleviated. The retail company has also gone ahead to ensure that their current employees remain motivated by offering bonuses in appreciation of their services.
