RE: Request For a Grant From Your Organisation
How Sound high school has been a center of hope in the rural area since it is the only school in that rural area. The school is, however, faced by numerous challenges inhibiting its core purpose that is equipping its student with knowledge adequately. The challenges range from housing, learning facilities, and above all, financing. The building in the school is quite small, and the construction of another building will aid in easing congestion. Another challenge faced by the school is inadequate learning facilities such as lack of technological resources. The school is finding it hard to improve this condition due to insufficient funds. The school has a population of four hundred and thirty students; therefore, it receives a little amount in funding. The school is hence forced to look for other sources to add on to the funding per student to achieve the quality of education being offered by other schools in the district.
Being a member of staff in this school, I have noted with a lot of concern the passion of our students in exploring scientific fields, but resources have become a limiting factor. I took up the matter to the principal who in turn gave me the go-ahead to lobby for funds from your organization. The school is, therefore, requesting your organization for a $55000 funding to improve the situation.
The school intends to:
• Buy new equipment and tools for our science laboratory, training teachers, and a new curriculum for students with the funds.
• Set up am microcomputer laboratory in the school where computers will be purchased, and teachers trained and refurbishment of the existing laboratory to accommodate the new set-up. The setup will allow nine stations where three to four students can learn together and share information through the networked computers.
Our students do not participate in science contests, and this hinders realization of full potential in our students. Our students miss out on opportunities to acquire and boost their knowledge beyond the ordinary classwork. The creativity of students should be promoted to solve problems that may be affecting society. Once granted the funding,
• The community around the school will benefit from the school in that the technology hub will enable our students to channel their research to help society.
• The school will also attract more students and partners in the education sector once the project is implemented.
The following graph shows the expected student population growth over the years, according to research conducted by the school management.
More students would like to be associated with our school, and this will lead to the expansion of the facility.
• Technology will draw interested parties, and our school will become a renowned technology hub not only in our district but also nationwide. Other members of staff are also willing to support and actively take part in the implementation of the project. Bringing on board everyone, from the teachers to students, will help foster the functional relationship between the staff and the students.
• Performance in the school will improve since students will have adequate resources and will be learning the ordinary classwork while participating in science contests in the district. Our school is dedicated to transforming the lives of students through technology for a better tomorrow.
The following chart shows the expected mean-grade to be attained once the project is implemented and students fully involved according to thorough preliminary research conducted by the school management.
