Nightingale book
Now that you are finished reading the novel, let′s begin thinking about some of the themes in The Nightingale. The interesting thing about this literary analysis is that the novel is new. It′s not like some novels you have read that scholars have been talking and writing about for 200 years. As a result, there has not been a vast amount of conversation about this novel yet. Our own perceptions can be new and fresh, untainted by years of others′ research and debate. The interview with Kristin Hannah in the module gives some hints as to what her intentions were. Using that as a guide, what do YOU see as the themes of the novel? What lessons are we to learn? What are the timeless truths that the novel reminds us of? We will build on this information for the final exam, so engage in a robust discussion. Think of it as a final exam study group. 🙂 You must make your original post by 11:59 on Sunday, November 24. Then you must respond to the original posts of at least two classmates by 11:59 on Tuesday, November 26 (this is a different day than usual because of the holiday). Remember that your responses should move beyond praising and agreeing; ask questions to help your classmates think more deeply about the subject. Offer your own perspective. Aim for a full paragraph in each response.
