“Friday night fights” and television negatively impact the existing culture of professional boxing as it showed that boxers are likely to be harmed by the concussions that the sustain in the process. Therefore, many people developed a negative view of boxing as they held the belief that it is a dangerous sport which people should not engage in (Davies, 2016). It reduced the level of attendance to professional boxing events. It also portrayed professional boxing as an African-American affair (Nappo, 2016). Therefore, it prevented people from all racial divides in the US to participate actively in boxing with the need to ensure that they supported it effectively. Thus, the situation impacted negatively on the necessary level of growth that the sport would grow to. It failed to show all athletes that they had had enough strength to do what is required to be successful in sports (Philippians 4:13, New King James version). Inclusivity is necessary for sports to make all people feel valued and, therefore, capable of putting in the desired efforts, which are likely to create the best effects. Through the process, they can focus more on strategies that will create a positive outcome in terms of improving the productivity of athletes.

Roone Arledge had a significant contribution to televised sports. He created the “Wide World Sports” and “The American Sportsman” for ABC. He brought modern production techniques in covering sports (Maschi, 2018). For instance, he is credited with creating the slow-motion repeat of a specific sports event for those who might miss it (Davies, 2016). He also initiated the analysis of a sports game, with the need to critique how different players performed and the notable elements that could be seen in the game. Therefore, he helped to make sports more appealing to watch. Through the criticism of various athletes, it was possible to show their areas of weakness in a bid to enable them to improve on them significantly (Proverbs 5:31, New King James Version). The continuous criticism was essential in showing the specific areas of sports which needed to be revamped on in a bid to enable fans to obtain the best experience for the money which they paid to watch games. Therefore, sports teams could adopt the necessary measures, which helped to create a more positive change. They continuously assessed their approach to games in a bid to determine the areas which they needed to improve on in an attempt to attain outstanding results in the process.

One way in which television impacted sports is that it increased the level of viewership of sports events. Therefore, many people increased their levels of participation in sports. Another impact is that it increased the revenues created through sports (Davies, 2016). Hence, it helped to make sports more professional owing to the huge amounts of funds available (Person et al., 2018). The third impact of television is that it increased the chances of more talented individuals being involved in sports, owing to the popularity created. They were likely to put in more effort in a bid to be successful in sports. Through the process, it would be possible for them to achieve the necessary outcomes which they were interested in (Hebrews 12:11, New King James version). Much of the focus of the athletes were based on the concept of attaining necessary skills, which were vital for them and likely to influence them positively into being successful. Since they observed other athletes who had also become successful through sports, they became interested in having significant levels of effort, which would help to create a more positive outcome for them. Therefore, they would become more professional.
