Self-Reflection on Middle Adulthood

Middle adulthood is the period between 30-60 years of age, which is the midpoint of a person’s lifespan. During this stage of life people are either happy or stressed according to the life they are living, also some people feel like they are drown closer to death without having accomplished nothing in life (Wrzus & Roberts, 2017). Adulthood comes with a lot of changes in a person’s life, for a person to achieve full happiness during middle adulthood is determined by how they handle the challenges that accompany this period.

During middle adulthood, people start facing a lot of responsibilities which include taking care of children, and also taking care of their aging parents (Pulkkinen, 2017). Middle adulthood comes with a lot of physical changes, Menopause is also knocking during this period for the women ((Wrzus & Roberts, 2017). Many women also face hormonal imbalance, which is caused by physical symptoms like mood swings, hot flashes, and emotional outburst. Medications are available to help fight side effects during hormonal changes.

Being in my early 30s brings a lot of joy in my life, I also reflect to the other 3 decades I have gone through, travelling to many different places, and doing a lot of productive activities in my life. I prefer focusing much on positivity to negativity, both success and failure have contributed to make me who I am today.

Every stage in life is accompanied with new challenges, and opportunities. Despite failing in many ways, missing a lot of opportunities, did not pursue everything that I wanted to pursue in life, and I was also disappointed by people close to me, I still have a positive feeling that  this stage of life is going to be great. With the experience I have accumulated, skills and resources, I will be able to handle any challenge that comes my way.
