Script Analysis
MID-TERM EXAM
On the Edge
The exam must be double-spaced, Times New Roman and 12 point. It should be reasonably margined. You must use On the Edge to answer all the questions as well as the Script Analysis for Actors, Directors and Designers. The script and textbook scans are included.
Please upload to CANVAS before the date indicated above.
Please use the textbook, lecture notes, and the plays themselves to help answer these questions. Answers should be concise and direct. No introduction or thesis statement needed – get straight into the answer. Support your arguments, analysis and assertions with specifics and examples. Answers themselves should be 2-3 sentences for each SPECIFIC question from the textbook. Not each number from the book, but each question from the numbers.
Part 4: Units and Beats (50 points)
Using Script Analysis for Actors, Directors and Designers (SA), review pgs. 133-140.
Using the script itself, divide it into (1) Units and then (2) Beats. These should be numbered on the script itself. The script must be printed out and turned in as part of the exam. Then, type out (3) Units and (4) Beats rewritten as demonstrated on p. 139. REMEMBER, you must use active verbs and you CANNOT repeat these verbs.
