OUTLINE & DRAFT BIBLIOGRAPHY ASSIGNMENT = 2 pages =100 %
OUTLINE = 50%
Format [25 % Total]–No cover page;
5 %-MS Word attachment: “Please present all required assignments electronically, as MS Word attachments”
5 %-Heading & Title: “four single-spaced lines at the top of page one with your name, the course & section number, your professor’s name, and the date of submission [not the date due]”; your title [the topic that you confirmed with Prof. Pinderhughes] should be centered and underlined.
5 %-Font: “All writing assignments must be typewritten …… using Arial or Times New Roman, font size 12”
10 %-double-spaced with 1” margins: “All writing assignments must be typewritten double-spaced”; “Padding tactics [skipping extra lines, using wide margins, oversize fonts, etc.] will not be tolerated” [Note: padding tactics may impact this criterion, as well as font and/or length.]
Length [10 %] – full page of outlined text
Grammar [15 %] – “it is your responsibility to correct your paper for spelling, grammar, and accurate and proper citations”
NOTE: At least 4/5 of your outline should be within your chosen topic/title.
DRAFT BIBLIOGRAPHY = 50 % – “Your bibliography must include at least 5 conventional academic journal articles, anthology chapters, or books……. While your bibliography may contain a url for a source, you must include complete conventional reference information for finding each of your 5 academic reference sources offline. All bibliographic references must use the appropriate citation format as illustrated by The Little Seagull Handbook. The bibliography …..should include complete reference information listing ALL of your sources for ideas as well as for quotations in alphabetical order by the last name of the first author of each work. Do not number your references or place them in footnotes.” [You may add to this list in your paper.] Also, do not use bullet points in Bibliography.
–References must be included in the same attachment, as part of your Outline & Draft Bibliography assignment
-Additional [supplemental] references, including those with urls are acceptable
– 35 % – or 7 % for each fully & correctly stated conventional academic reference
– 5 % – for proper font
– 10 %- for properly alphabetizing the list of references
Miscellaneous
Minus 10 x # class days late: “Any paper submitted late will be penalized at the rate of 10 % per class day overdue.”
