This article attempts to examine the influence of Dark Personality in trolling behavior towards popular and less popular Facebook profiles. Researchers used 155 participants to try associating trolling and Dark personality Triad traits to predict and inadvertently prevent trolling behavior. Data used by researchers include surveying the participant’s Facebook profiles. Researchers found out that the Dark Triad Personalities are associated with different online behaviours directed to diverse Facebook profiles. The research concludes that Narcissism behavior is associated with downward social comparison while psychopathy is associated with trolling with both behaviours targeting particularly popular individuals.

The authors of the article used existing databases that consisted of past research programs concerning the influence of video games on the well-being of participants. The researchers found that though the influence of video games on participants is not uniform, they generally enhance wellness at least in the short term. They can exert a negative influence if the experiences that they provide that satisfy the universal needs for autonomy, competence and relatedness are undermining needs and can even prompt aggression.

This article is about how various aspects of game designs embody the potential for eliciting particular types of emotions during gameplay. The researches were focused on finding how the eliciting conditions that are portrayed during gameplay are embodied in game design. By analyzing these conditions, researchers sought to identify the agents, objects and events in the game that potentially trigger emotions that are meaningful and significant in the light of the play as a whole. This research was motivated by the increased tendencies of trolling behavior on Facebook with no apparent instrumental purpose other than being deceptive, disruptive and destructive to the trolled person.
Through the research, the authors identified that psychopathic behavior is characterized by the belief that it is okay for others to be manipulated and hurt for the perpetrator’s own fulfilment. According to the others, trolls are motivated by a sadistic motive to harm others which ultimately gives them satisfaction. The study details how the three personalities behave on social media platforms like regularly updating their Facebook profile pictures and WhatsApp status. The research concludes that studying dark triad personalities is important in understanding how trolls can suggest psychopathic, Machiavellianism or narcissists tendencies.
