Task:

You are hired as a junior investment analyst in an investment bank located in Kuala Lumpur. Your boss assigned you to make an investment analysis Malaysian companies for potential investment. He specifically asked you to choose companies within the consumer industries. You are to evaluate the financial position of the company and suggest on which company is a better investment to him.

 

Requirements:

  1. Select any two public listed companies in consumer industry and download its financial statements for the past three years.
  2. You are to write the analysis with following elements:

  5. Management profile(s)
  6. The role/functions of accounting and finance in the chosen companies.
  7. The purpose of financial statements and describe their main elements (e.g. asset vs. liabilities, income vs. expenditure, etc.)
  8. Analysis of financial statements using ratio analysis you have learned throughout the course. You are required to choose ratios that are relevant to investment decisions.
