Eurozone Flaws
The United Kingdom leaving, is there an opportunity for further European Union enlargement? Do you think that may happen, or is the EU’s growth phase over?
To some extent, I agree with the commentator. It could be true that the UK was never that committed to European Union projects, but it did contribute a lot of funds to support such projects. United Kingdom is economically dependent on the EU because most of its exports, like 12%, go to the EU market. With the United Kingdom leaving, the European Union would be affected economically, but that does not mean that there is no room for further growth. The organization has a choice to strengthen its relationship with Germany. This will help then in balancing between the European desires and the projects that need to be done. In the end, it will find a balance for its engagement. The Union is more open to letting new countries in that would help in its growth and development as well. So no, the growth phase of the Union will still continue.
To what extent is the European Union controlled by Germany
Germany is one of the powerful countries that can help when it comes to the recovery of the European Union after the United Kingdom had left. It is normal for a country that is bringing more shares on the table to want more attention and say when it comes to decision making. This may be mistaken as seeking control over the entire Union. Germany has a lot of potentials, including coming up with innovative actions and encouraging small and medium-sized enterprises to take off so that the European Union can recover economically. They are contributing a lot of money for these, and so it is just right that they are given an opportunity to have a say on how such resources are handled. This may come with a bit of controlling power.
