Effects of COVID-19.

COVID-19 is aviral infectionthat caused a newly discovered coronavirus. The virus is passed from one person to another upon direct exposure of a victim’s body fluid—most of the victims of COVID-19 experience mild or moderate respiratory illness. The victims of COVID-19 may recover without requiring treatment; however, in some cases, COVID-19 is fatal. Recently, COVID-19 has been declared a pandemic due to its vast spread across the world. The pandemic has disturbed the economic, social, religious, and financial status of the globe.

Economic effects.

World-leading economies are on the verge of collapsing, not forgetting the already scrambling third world countries’ economies. Most of the sectors that previously used to generate funds needed to run the economy have been forced to impromptu shutdown. For instance, countries that depended on tourism as a major contributor in their economy have been greatly affected since both foreign and local tourism has been restricted until things get back to normal. For this reason, economies across the globe have been weakened.

Social effects.

COVID-19 has spread fear and suspicion among people. The normal way of life has been negatively affected. Churches and many other social and religious places have been neglected to curb the spread of COVID-19. Sporting activities and other activities that used to bring people together have either been left alone willingly or forcefully by the rules put in place by the government. People are now adapting to new practices like putting on a face mask anytime one leaves his or her home. For these reasons, both social and religious are being affected.

Effects on the education sector.

Educational centers have been forced to sudden closure to curb the spread of the pandemic. Since educational facilities accommodate a large population, there was a need to close them to prevent the first spread of COVID-19. Moreover,  educational centers are being used as quarantine facilities for persons suspected to have been exposed to the virus. The use of educational facilities forced education to be foregone as most effort is being deployed to tackle the pandemic and not education. Therefore, educational activities have either been slowed down or stopped indefinitely.

Effect on financial status.

Most affected persons are low income and casual workers. Firms have been forced to drop most if not all their casual workers due to the tough time of COVID-19. Unemployed persons are greatly affected, as some of them are unable to provide for their families. Also, during this period, low-income earners tend to suffer as the essential product gets overpriced, making it unaffordable to them. As expressed, most families depend on aids from both the government and NGOs.

Conclusion.

COVID-19 has greatly affected almost all sectors. Economies are struggling to cope with the sudden hit by COVID-19. Social practices have been greatly hit, and one can easily notice the change in people away from life. Moreover, educational sectors affected negatively as educational centers have been closed down as a way to curb the spread and also as quarantine facilities of COVID-19. In conclusion, for us to counter the spread of COVID-19, we are advised to maintain social distancing, sanitize and wash our hands regularly, avoid crowded places and report cases of people showing coronavirus related symptoms.
