Based on this knowledge and the guidelines for establishing an ethics committee, the six members will be selected in the following procedures (National Association of School Psychologists, 2010). The first step in to identify the roles of the community. Firstly, one member should be the coordinator or chair of the ethics committee. They must possess high leadership skills and ensures that protocols and respective interests are represented (NACCHO & CDC, 2010). The individual members of the committee also have their separate responsibility to ensure that ethical standards are observed in the organization. Legal counsel is a critical criterion or element to consider when choosing an ethics committee. They advise the committee on relevant authorities and how they limit the rules and operation of the committees. They ensure the aspect of justice is dispensed. Another critical element to consider while selecting members is external stakeholders or agency staff. They ensure that whatever the ethics committee adopts conforms to a particular requirement. They represent interests of different professionals or expertise bodies (NACCHO & CDC 2010). The number of members selected at this level depends on the ranges of operation the organization is involved in. Every member selected must first conform to the qualities of the standard highlighted above.
