Sociology
Human society has developed over time to a more complicated topic. Through sociology, all the different aspects of human society are analysed. This includes its development over time, human social interactions, culture and social problems. Having the understanding of “science of society” will significantly affect my interactions with different societal groups. I think that I get an opportunity to look at different things from different perspectives.
Generally, all sociologists are not judgmental about things that identify with life and society. Also, it’ll assist me in adapting to various perspectives and resolve conflicts in more safe ways. While composing this paper, I learned society largely affects my life and people around me. I discovered that individual issues could manifest into a social issue that influences the entire society all in all, similarly as the major social issues can influence my own life.
Overall, writing this paper has benefited me to look closer at society and see how different issues affect me in my life. I thought of my decision about faith and religion. Having grown in a very religious environment; a Christian family, I grew up believing in the existence of a supreme being. An interaction with science students gave me an insight, Proof of arriving at a conclusion that changed me to be an atheist and understand the need for society to have religion.
As a statistics and programming student, sociology is essential. Collection of data from societal groups, application of mathematical/statistical formulas to analyse the data and most importantly to study the data to come to a conclusion on how various events affect aspects in human society such as demography, finance, the economy, politics et cetera. Statistical methods are tools for understanding human science from the data collected.
