Research Initiative Problems

This study will involve developing research and management problems concerning employees’ motivations, including positivism, critical realism, constructionism, and pragmatism (Skripak, 2016). The management problem refers to the gap between the future desired state and the current operational status within a given organization. Some examples of management problems include poor communication, pressure on performance, poor teamwork, difficult employees, skepticism, inadequate support, absence of structure, time management, and other related challenges (Skripak, 2016). Therefore, this study’s research problem is, “What are some of the management problems as far as employees’ motivation is concerned?”

One of the approaches in the employees’ motivation is constructionism. This approach involves three primary aspects that include methodological, epistemological, and ontological assumptions. The methodological assumption enhances and compares uncovered information from the organization’s employees (Skripak, 2020). Therefore, when constructionism is implemented, it will result in time management problems since methodological and epistemological assumptions are time-consuming, especially when one needs to collect information from a huge magnitude of employees.

Another approach in the motivation of the employees is positivism. The aspect of positivism in a business organization primarily involves the orientation that an employee can do rather than what one is incapable of doing (Sabir, 2017). This practice of positivism within an organization enhances positive feelings towards employees to influence the employees’ productivity. Positivism involves ignoring the previous mistakes of the given employee and focusing on the organization’s future. This practice also involves challenging the employees by giving them a mandate to turn their ideas into actions (Sabir, 2017). Therefore when this form of motivation is implemented within an organization, it can result in a management problem of skepticism that will result in an attitude of doubting knowledge or ideas from the employees.
