project management
In our discussion, I have learned some critical concepts as far as our course coverage is concerned. one of the ideas that attracted my attention is why projects fail despite many efforts that may be put across by various project stakeholders. To mention a few reasons, projects fail due to lousy politicking amongst multiple stakeholders. A few characters may come up and spread some evil rumors for their beneficial reasons, which, in the long run, may negatively impact the progress of the said Project (Armenia et al. 2019).
Another reason is unexpected government regulations, which may negatively affect the progress of a project. This may include the ban on usage of a particular product or strict standards on waste disposal regulations, which previously never existed. Intense competition due to the emergence of new technology is another factor that may affect a project’s progress. This makes the once used technology to become redundant and outdated (Nonino et al. 2019).
The primary purpose of configuration management is to note the significant characteristics of a product or service and judge, audit, and implement any change to such a feature. Configuration management has become so popular in recent years, and many famous and successful institutions in the corporate world have found it critical in their journey to success. This is because, among other benefits in their daily endeavors, it has enhanced reliability in processes and critical systems within organizations. This is majorly through the realization of the wrong configuration that could affect the progress of an organization. It is also cost-friendly since it provides detailed knowledge hence avoid unwanted duplication(Chanda et al. 2018).
Three major components clearly explain what sustainable project management is. They include social, economic, and environmental. A sustainable project manager should ensure that he is protecting the social interaction of the surrounding people. On the economic side, a sustainable project should ensure that the Project has uplifted the well-being and the financial status of its stakeholders at all times. A sustainable project should also be environment friendly by providing proper disposal of waste and minimum noise pollution().
Conflict resolution is an essential aspect of any successful project or organization. Conflicts can be resolved in some significant ways, including mediation, arbitration, control, acceptance, and elimination. Mediation involves seeking an intermediary person or party who will be neutral in their judgment toward conflicting issues. He is supposed to come up with a lasting solution for the matter in question. On the other hand, arbitration involves the two conflicting parties, an arbitrator who will conclude from their conflict. When parties conflict, they can conclusively decide to seek a third person who will decide on the dispute in question. The other method controls. The parties can choose the come up with ways that will help prevent any issue that may bring forward a conflict between them (Angra et al. 2018).
The other conflict resolution method involves acceptance that there is a conflict, overlooking the conflicting issue, and ignoring it. This will include a competition that is unmanageable and can bring more harm by trying to resolve it. The last one is the elimination of a dispute, which involves avoiding any issue that might come up with a conflict between parties (Jose et al. 2017)

Hi,
I am highly appreciative of your post there. You have stated various reasons that can lead to the failure of a project. I concur with you that an unexpected crisis within an organization can lead to the loss of a project. This is because such a situation can lead to the withdrawal of some critical stakeholders of a particular project, which will finally lead to an overall failure of the Project. The government can also come ip with some unfriendly regulations to the success of a project. These may include announcements such as curfew, which will reduce people’s working hours, delaying completing a project. The Project can also fail due to advancement in technological know-how. A new method of doing things may come flop in hence making plans or the overall expected outcome of a given project redundant.
Hi,
Thank you for your post. I like your explanation and views on various reasons as to why there might be changes in a project. From your post, you have explained that one of the causes can be requested by the client to change the Project’s initial planning, hence evolving the overall Project. The other one is initial planning errors that might have occurred when the Project was being initiated. The project manager may realize that the Project’s final expectations will have some negative impact hence decide to change the planning of the Project. The project manager can also develop some improved ways of doing things and therefore decide to change the way the Project was progressing.
