NURSE RESPONSE

DR.AKO

I believe that timeliness, efficiency, and effectiveness still play a significant role in a nurse’s roles and goals; however, they can still be achieved under the umbrella of patient-centered, safety, and equitability. Like I had discussed before, the patient-centered treatment delivers treatment, acknowledges and responds to individual patient interests, needs, and beliefs, and ensures that patient values inform all clinical decisions. To achieve a flawless patient-centered treatment, I believe that a nurse must be efficient and effective in her role. In my opinion, patient-centered treatment is the heartbeat of a healthcare organization. Thus timeliness, efficiency, and effectiveness through a different set of goals can be merged into one and fall under the banner of patient-centeredness.In your opinion, Dr. Ako, do you think we can have goals that are more crucial than others, or they all play an essential role?

Safety, indeed, is a vital goal for nurses to adhere to avoid biohazardous disasters within an HCO. Most of the work that determines patient safety and harm prevention procedures have centered on unfavorable treatment outcomes, such as mortality and morbidity.  However, do you believe that the HCO would provide their nurses with adequate training for safety measures? Or should it be the nurse’s responsibility to get adequate training?

Patient-centered treatment is a crucial goal in nursing, and any healthcare organization mainly because the patients are our largest and most influential shareholder. According to well-managed health care, organization nurses identify each patient’s characteristics and adapt protocols to accommodate them. Also, Patients rely on their nurses to be their advocates. However, in your opinion, an HCO ensures that its nurses have adequate time and resources to deliver excellent patient-centered treatment?
