Conceptualize an Idea for Patent

Patents

A patent is a right granted by the government to an inventor for a particular invention that aims to protect other inventors from using, selling, or making the invention without their consent for a specific period (“What Is a Patent? – FindLaw”, 2020). The technical information must be disclosed to the entire public through an application of the patent to obtain the patent. Patents help companies or individuals develop their products without the fear of encroachment and serve as bragging rights, signifying their innovativeness (“What Is a Patent? – FindLaw”, 2020).

Ideas for a patentable product

To obtain a patent, one comes up with a unique idea.

  1. A remotely controllable bulb

One of the ideas of a patentable product is coming up with a bulb that can be operated using a remote control. The remote control helps regulate the light and amount of heat released at the comfort of your seat without necessarily using the main switch to put off the lights. The bulb is also able to record whatever is happening in that room.  Besides, while away from the house, one can connect it to his or her laptop, mobile phone, or another electronic gadget available. This process is achievable through the use of sensors and CCTV (Closely-Circuit Television) cameras installed in the bulb. This bulb has various advantages, including sorting out more than one purpose in the house, whereby it’s used for lighting purposes while providing enough security in the house. The process is possible owing to the ability to monitor all activities. In case of any illegal activity, one can get an alert as soon as possible. This function makes staying in the house comfortable both in hot and cold seasons due to its ability to regulate the heat. It helps to keep records on all activities done hence easy to retrieve any information needed (Ashok & Srikanth, 2017).

  1. Towel drying machine

The invention of a towel, the dryer machine, that can dry the towel after use, and disinfect it with UV (Ultraviolet) lights is a genius idea that one can patent. Once the towel is cleaned, the machine helps to disinfect and then dry it. Disinfecting will help curb the spread of diseases caused by germs and bacteria buildup due to dampness in towels. For example, when two people share a towel like a couple, and one is having flu, if the other person uses it before disinfecting, chances of contracting the same are very high. Disinfecting will also help prevent the spread of skin diseases such as eczema, warts, and acne. A towel dryer machine will save on time spend and the cost of maintaining hygiene too. The reason for the occurrence is that one must only wash it without thinking of an external disinfectant. This idea is yet to be explored, of which it will sort a lot of issues in human life.

  1. Personalized Coffee dispenser

Finally, a personalized coffee dispensing machine integrated to serve coffee your way after authenticating your identity through fingerprint recognition. The machine is powered by electricity hence able to work for long due to a reliable source of power. Once you start using this machine, there are things you need to update in the machine; your age, amount of sugar you need, the amount of water needed, the quantity of coffee preferred, the flavor needed the amount of heat you require in your drink. Once you enter all this information, one can save using your fingerprint. The next time you’ll need coffee, it will be effortless for it to retrieve the data. It applies in a family setting too, whereby each person’s information is recorded. You verify using your fingerprint, and you get whatever you need. The idea is an invention that has been less explored, which would save a lot of time and make things easy, unlike the long process of preparing the coffee (Yang, Zhao & Gu, 2015).
