The People’s Reactions during the Crisis

The reaction of the people in Kuwait between July and November has been encouraging. The students are beginning to adjust to their online learning experience. The uproar that had met the government in their delay to reopen schools have since subsided. Most parents of public school children were concerned that those in private schools continued with their education while those in public suffered. However, the resumption of the new calendar year has calmed the nerves of those parents who were worried. People are still maintaining the measures that have been put in place by the government to prevent the spread of the disease. Most are maintaining social distance and hygienic practices.

Social Changes during the Crisis

Most social practices are the same ones that were endorsed when the virus was first reported in the country. Social gatherings are still prohibited mostly during weddings and funerals. Only a few people are allowed to attend such events. Workplaces are still expected only to use half of their workforce. Although sporting events are still ongoing, people are still not allowed to watch them. Hygienic practices of washing hands and sanitizing are still being enforced.

Conclusion

In conclusion, despite the challenges, the government is still trying to mitigate the spread of the deadly virus at the same time return normalcy to the country. Although there is a slight surge of the number of infections, the moves that the government is making are highly commended by both the public and pollsters. However, more can be done to flatten the curve that has been steeply rising these past few weeks
