Residency Experience
An important aspect I learned is that it can take a company a million years to recover from a cyber-attack. Yet, it can take the same company a couple of days to establish a security system for its information. A good example is the Equifax Company has never recovered from a cyber-attack. However, the protected company information must be available for use when needed, for instance, during audits. The company clients should also be able to access the company information wherever necessary. Otherwise, companies with well-established information protection plans are bound to face few challenges in their operations. Information security is one of the most critical risk management tools in every organization. The current technology we use is exposed to data breach risks, and the vulnerability revolves around the implementation process (Zhang, Wein, and Hua, 2019). We have seen various and serious data breaches that have left big companies closed. Therefore, the experience calls for resolutions.
Notably, the access rights and control systems need to be improved for the operational systems’ sustainability. Company operational data and planning are all done in the data format, known as the company information at either the national or federal level. All the operations of the company have to follow the data in place. Once the company information is leaked to the wrong party, the company is at a higher risk of getting attacked in ways that could lead to its closure. Therefore, the company’s safety or the risk-free nature of a company’s operation is established on its information security. Once the company data is sealed and only available to authorized individuals such as the management board, its sustainability could be guaranteed. We have seen various high profile companies closing down due to inadequate information security, leading to their shut down. Therefore, companies run under the current technology systems must be vigilant with their information security system.
