The healthcare system of the United States faces several challenges that hinder its ability to offer quality and accessible healthcare services to its citizens. The challenges include changes to the government’s healthcare policies, causing debates on decisions to establish long-term solutions for problems in the health care system. This issue has not been fixed because of the different perspectives that the congress and the court have about the policies. The shortage of physicians and nurses in healthcare systems is another challenge that causes healthcare facilities to struggle to keep up with the rising demand for clinical services. This has not been fixed because of the increase in patient population and the new health policies that delay their action to provide more physicians and nurses in health care facilities. Thirdly, the opioid crisis has increased since most patients become addicted to the drug, mostly when they are given to as painkillers to treat their chronic pains. Hence, it has become hard to fix this issue because of the rising number of individuals addicted to opioids.

I believe that providing universal health care should be the policy of the United States. This is because the United States spends more money on healthcare, but most healthcare services do not care for every citizen within the country than all the developed countries that use universal health care. Hence, for the United States to have a stable health care system, it should consider incorporating a universal healthcare policy that will enable every citizen to be medically covered. Using initiatives like the Nation Health System will enable health to be improved and be at par with nations like the United States and Germany. For instance, in the United Kingdom, every individual born in any of the nations in the U.K, are said to use NHS; hence, no one is presented with a medical bill after getting medical services except dental, optical, or prescription services from either a private or public healthcare facility. However, in Germany, universal healthcare covers all medical services with no exception.

The government should provide health for working people because it would help people focus on their other monthly bills and other daily needs. Hence, their monthly or medical budget would be eased, and they would use the money for medical insurance or bills for something else that is equally important. If the United States government incorporates the universal healthcare system, working individuals would not be worried about their medical budget because their taxes would be paying for their medical bills and insurance. Thus, making it easier for them to save the money that they were to use on medical budgets or use for something else is as crucial as healthcare, such as housing. Also, I think the government should provide health for those who cannot work because if one cannot work, it would be difficult for them to find money to pay for their medical bills or their healthcare purposes. The universal healthcare policy caters to each, and every individual is a citizen in the country that has upheld the policy. Whether the person does or does not work, the healthcare and wellbeing are catered for by the government. I think this is a good idea that can work in the United States because healthcare has become more costly and expensive for people to comprehend. Hence, if they incorporate the universal healthcare policy, both the people who work and those who do not will benefit from free healthcare.

The United States healthcare policies are doing more harm than good to the people. Finding adequate, affordable, and reliable insurance is hard to find in the United States, yet they claim that they have insurance health covers for affordable and available people. However, people are suffering more due to the high costs of healthcare in America. The best solution for our failing system is to incorporate the universal healthcare policy and try to work around it to see if there would be any significant changes in the healthcare system and to the public.
