According to Schopf et al. (2019), electronic health records transform healthcare by improving all aspects involving patient care, including safety, patient-centeredness, communication, effectiveness, equity, and timeliness, among other elements. I like your idea of improving and utilizing “MyChart” by having more direct communication with the nurse and other providers. Technological advancements make the aspect of nursing informatics to grow. Incorporating technology in nursing leads to faster and effective communication, increased patient safety, efficient charting, and improved scheduling process (Krick et al., 2019).
