My Mom has been Influential in My life

Nightingale’s principles and observations mainly focus on the modification of patients’ environment. Based on that, the anticipated emergency plan during a disaster such as flood would be taking care of the disaster victims and rescuing individuals have might have been trapped in flood. Considering that most often, victims of floods lose valuable resources, including safe food, water and clothes, taking care of them means ensuring they have access to those valuable life resources (Zhou et al., 2018). Henceforth, a critical item to be included in the plan is ensuring the availability of such resources and accessibility to first aids services, sunlight, and fresh air. The emergency response team would be given an outline of locating the resources and making them accessible to the disaster victims to avoid critical situations due to their deficit.

Question 2

Various operations and structures in the healthcare facility where I practice my nursing practice reflect most of Nightingale’s concepts. The facility is spacious and has a modern ventilation system to ensure safe and clean air for residents. There is also a free space where patients can access free sunlight. Besides, there are notices at every hospital wall notifying that noise is prohibited in the hospital. The hospital also has qualified cleaners working 24/7 to ensure its cleanliness (AliSher et al., 2018). Regarding food, the hospital is currently taking a survey to identify the most preferred food among patients of various conditions. It recently identified that the dustbins are filled with too much food leftovers, signifying that most patients are not pleased with the hospital’s food.

Question 3

It is important to note that a quality improvement, QI project aims to make a change to patients by promoting their safety, efficacy, and care experience. According to Nightingale’s approach, that can be achieved by modifying environmental factors affecting patients’ health. Having ideas to present to the QI project group requires one to have an understanding of the patients’ problems within various contexts. Therefore, one will need to use multiple data, including clinical audits, registries of data on patients’ results and experiences, and learning from events and grievances. This way, one will have something to contribute to the group regarding the problems that should be addressed to ensure (Jones et al., 2019). Also, one can take time to brainstorm about the causes of the problem, evaluating different contextual contributors to the problem.
