Young people’s role in educating older people in the modern world

Young people play an important role in educating older people in the modern world, where technology has taken over nearly everything. While there are people who claim that young people are unable to teach older adults, as mentioned in the following paragraphs, I believe there are many lessons older adults can learn from young people.

First of all, as opposed to elderly individuals, young people appear to understand new concepts earlier. Young people have proven to understand such platforms more than older people with the advent of new technology, especially in social interactions such as Facebook. Old adults can also be taught to use Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram by young people. Last year, for example, I helped my mother install Instagram and Twitter on her phone, so I taught her how those platforms work. Young people would then be able to instruct older adults about how to use new technology.

Second, as opposed to older adults in societal contexts, young people are more inspired. In particular, most young people are driven to excel by making the right career choices. In addition, young people are also motivated during their careers to gain more expertise and experience. Consequently, these individuals may assist older adults in dealing with societal ideas and decision-making. In addition, young individuals also bring new and fresh ideas to a specific team. For example, everyone in his department was shocked by his enthusiasm and fresh ideas when my brother was working as a software developer. He contributed a great deal to influence the software development process, even though he was the youngest member of his team.
