Computers

The globe has radically felt the impact of the skyrocketing changes taking place in the technology Feld. There is no doubt that the computer’s invention had=s brought about so many changes starting from how we lived before the invention to how we live today after the invention. Notably, the extreme rise in the use of computers has severely impacted people’s lives. Computers indeed destabilize the human capability for critical thinking by devastating basic questions of justice and purpose with data glut. Arguably computers propose to make our lives ever-more well-organized however, what do we lose by accepting that seductive promise? All that we want is a better world, and therefore it is easy to assume that the invention of computers will make our world better. Besides computers supercharge our productivity. In this paper, I will agree with Roszak’s claim that computers contribute nothing essential to the life of the mind.

On the same note, we cannot deny the fact that computers have made our lives beautiful and easier because with a click of the keyboard we can get all the information that we need without much struggle however that comes along with a price to pay nowadays many of us don’t want to think critically and do our research because we know there is somewhere we can get information that we need that has greatly impacted our we think. Many of us cannot solve any problem without researching. How is researching important to us if we can get all the information we need from the internet? We can no longer brainstorm with friends to get assignments done without depending on the internet. Have you ever sat down and thought about the impact that the internet has brought on our minds? That’s the reason why we cannot think critically anymore.

An example is my cousin, who has been experiencing problems because she spends most of their time on the internet. She does not play computer games but also surfs the net. Ever since the 20th century, if you don’t have a computer, you are considered old fashioned because we often visit our email and do research using computers. However, we need to have boundaries on how much time we spend on computers. Many people have lost track of events because they spend most of their time on the internet, which makes them feel comfortable to the extent of forgetting that they are people outside here who they are supposed to interact with, and that’s where the problem is. Many people have lost connection with the real globe.

Computer and internet dependency can cause a person to lose their identity and sever family ties and relationships with their loved ones like my cousin; therefore, there is a need for individuals to try to identify the problem and solve it once and for all. Let’s all focus on solving the problems that computers have brought into our lives because their effects are immense, and there is no doubt that those effects keep on increasing. Let every individual be responsible for what they do with computers and the internet. Notably, the dependency on the computer is unhealthy for individuals. It is high time to proceed with moderation and limit the time we spend on computers (Drake., 67).
