History

Yesterday in history class, we will study the early women’s movement in the United States. This movement is beginning in the late nineteenth century, but it gained power after working women and social reformers to join upper-class women in the struggle around 1910. Last night, for a long time, I am thinking about these strong women. They were holding open-air meetings and large parades, and they argued their cause with passion and logic. They were very courageous. My interest in this movement is not typical for me; usually, I had been interested only in reading about the United States and its foreign policy. However, to learn about these women opened my eyes. Some day, I hope I had contributed to the advancement of women in American society, too. Perhaps I influence the people around me in a positive way. When I have done that, I feel very good about myself.
