Social media

There are several ways social media can influence an individual’s behavior. The first way it affects an individual’s behavior is that it affects how an individual can interact with others. Social media, especially the internet, has made many individuals unable to properly interact with their peers facially(Aula,2010). They cannot interact properly because they are used to chatting in social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram but not facial interaction. Therefore, social media affects an individual’s behavior by interfering with their interaction techniques, making them unable to physically interact with others.

Additionally, the other way social media changes an individual’s behavior is that it leads to internet addiction. Children in the current generation are used internet and technology such that they cannot do without it. Most children are very used to the internet and social media that they forget to do house chores or any other duties that they are supposed to do (Aula,2010)

. For instance, some children disrespect their parents to prevent their parents from telling them to carry out their duties. Consequently, social media leads to internet addiction, making children disrespectful and disobedient.

Furthermore, social media changes the life behaviour of an individual by eroding their culture and beliefs. Several videos are often saved in social media that are immoral. When children get access to such videos, they negatively change their behaviour. Additionally, such videos erode the morals that children are being taught by their parents (Aula,2010). Subsequently, social media affects an individual’s behaviour by corrupting their morals.

Lastly, social media changes an individual’s behaviour by reducing their investment time in productive activities. According to research, a higher percentage of children and adults take most of their time in social media instead of doing productive and healthy activities such as sports and other useful activities (Aula,2010). For instance, many youths spend a lot of time on various social media platforms instead of participating in sports and other useful activities. Therefore social media changes an individual’s behaviour by making them unable to take part in any useful activity.
