PERSUASIVE ESSAY
- The topic of discussion is universal healthcare, which is the coverage of residents to get medical attention even when they are not able to afford health services. Beneficiaries of universal health care coverage enjoy a wide range of services, including; vaccination, rehabilitation, and treatment, under control of government financing. Any person with a healthcare card is legible for health programs wherever they are (Zieff et al., 2020).
- Like any other organization, universal healthcare has its pros and cons. starting with pros, people can access treatment and hospital services at low costs, even when the ailment or disorder is costly. Another advantage is that services are standardized in terms of the fee charged on various health problems. Also, additional health insurance is not necessary because everything is catered. However, cons linked to universal healthcare coverage include having people reluctant about their lifestyle (not preventive) because of an assurance of being treated. Elective procedures take long, making patients’ situations worse or even fatal. Also, other healthy persons are burdened with paying for medical care to be used by others. The quality of care is diminished because of the high demand for medical attention (Heitkamp, 2018).
- In my rationale, universal healthcare services are ineffective. A reason is that despite being a government program to give timely medical attention, it indirect health insurance that increases tax rates to reduce medical expenses. Without negotiation rates, medical practitioners are incapacitated to be flexible because of set schedules and standard fee charges.
- This essay’s audience is the youths (16-34 years) who have low income and need medical attention using healthcare.
- The appropriate way of addressing the youths is through a professional method to give those facts and reality of the situation to be wise with their lifestyle and cautious with awaiting health incentives.
- The healthcare topic is essential because youths need to invest in prevention lifestyle, i.e., avoiding substance use, taking vaccines seriously and watching their diets, and not relaxing waiting to be covered with healthcare.
