CS III a

All children are different and have different traits and characteristics that construct a unique personality. In a child, the self-concept starts developing immediately they gain consciousness. Therefore, this means that all people surrounding the child are supposed to provide a positive response to support and build the child’s self-concept. In making sure that I do not intentionally or unintentionally target the child’s self-concept, I always ensure that I am very watchful of the language that I use ad avoid labeling children by using harsh words like mean, lazy or naughty. I always ensure that I provide every child with an equal opportunity of pursuing their success. This I do by giving them the support they require, having faith in them, motivating them to meet their goals, and managing their emotional needs and, consequently, their self-concept. Building trust is one of the most critical aspects of accessing the child’s emotional, social development. This can be achieved through building a friendly relationship with the children. From my experience, attention is necessary for the social and emotional development of the child. It is essential to acknowledge a child’s positive behavior, support them in developing positive behavior, and motivate them to pursue their purpose. Positive guidance is necessary for every child since it teaches them self control and proper positive guidance to create a sense of self-efficacy.

Therefore, I believe that guidance is critical and will significantly help a child improve their academic performance. As an educator, I think that constructive criticism and appraisal are fundamental aspects that provide positive guidance.

A child’s positive behavior must be praised and acknowledged to improve and enhance the child’s traits instead of criticizing them. These will help promote positive guidance. Appraisal sparks the feeling of motivation, self-confidence ad self-esteem typically. On the other hand, constructive criticism helps in generating a sense of morality.
