Agile Project Management in Atlassian Company

Introduction

Agile project management is a tool that aims at bringing operations to the organization easier because it encompasses various disciplines and provides a comprehensive interface to the staff through the use of software technology. Many software companies deal with agile project management software up to achieving the most significant height of success. Atlassian Team has been using the agile tool for the management. They have gained a lot of progress in staff management, increased sales and purchase of products, and general service delivery by incorporating deals in monitoring health tools, roles and responsibilities specialization, and retrospectives (Mihalache et al., 2017). The agile tool’s main provisions that an organization’s leaders focus on include; team management, leading teams, building self-disciplined teams, getting the right people for the project and insisting on accountability and responsibility, encouraging collaboration, encouraging participatory decision-making, customer collaboration, and many more roles.

Participatory decision-making: in the Atlassian Company, leaders have made sure they make everyone’s work easier by embracing the spirit of collaboration in making sure that decisions are not partially arrived. When using the agile technique in teamwork, management has been more accessible because it allows for free-participation in the forums that foster collective responsibility in making the best outcome. True collaboration will enable individuals to share their thoughts over an issue brought for finding a lasting intervention (Jim 2021). For some years, despite the tool’s challenges, the company has managed to make critical project management decisions. The team cannot make decisions on critical issues. The company’s leadership usually comes to the rescue with an amicable solution to the problem.

Encouraging collaboration: despite the challenges the company has experienced, some successes have pointed out to have resulted from the responsible use of agile technology through collaboration. Being that teams have been self-organized; therefore, collaboration has automatically taken its way among the team members resulting in teamwork. Teamwork facilitates rapid decision-making at a sustainable pace. And generally, it boosts staffs’ morale. Atlassian team members have been at the forefront in making collaborative work designs where they make lasting solutions to problems through brainstorming designs that best solve a problem.

Foster self-discipline: in the Atlassian Company, self-discipline has been the key to their growth despite its challenges. Leaders and teams have always tried to remain true to themselves in offering services even though the agile tool has posed some challenges, which has compromised some members’ discipline (Jim 2021). However, the device has made the company come to the sport light among the best-performing companies. Self-discipline brings freedom and empowerment to individuals and team members. The value of self-discipline enables individuals to accomplish the task assigned with diligence and a high sense of responsibility. The company has become successful due to self-discipline based on respect for colleagues, engagement in intense interaction and debate, individuals confront reality through quick thinking, and most team members become responsible for their decision.

Accountability: using agile software development tools such as extreme programming (XP) through continuous integration. Shared responsibility has made the company receive a perfect boost in delivering its services to the teams’ satisfaction.  The company has enjoyed working with adorably responsible individuals who always ensure that only delivery to clients by an individual is accounted for in case there is an issue (Jim 2021). Everyone has been ready to carry their cross for their actions in business. Leaders in the company have been showing their accountability and responsible character when they provide every team with the required resources to effectively deliver their work. After the teams received the required resources, they will work responsibly with whatever resources are offered until they bring the best outcome.

Dealing with the right people: project managers in the Atlassian Company have been responsible for assigning projects to the right people regarding the skills required, both technical and behavioral. Using agile software development tools, managers and team leaders have tried to develop the criteria to find the assignment’s best candidates. By having qualified staff with the appropriate skills to enable effective and efficient service delivery, Atlassian Company has progressed even with sophisticated agile tools. For example, using the banner of business reengineering (BPR) brought many failed businesses to some companies.

Leading teams: Since most projects are not managed appropriately and lack leadership skills, using an agile project management tool has led to proper management and great results. The company has a recommendable leadership structure that efficiently performs its service delivery using some essential management tools. These agile tools include functions such as coding, scrum, Open UP, and refactoring, among others (Thomas 2021). The company has been performing exceptionally well because of good management, reducing risks, uncertainties, and complexities that might result after completing the tasks.

Conclusion

The Atlassian Company has been one of the best in terms of service delivery to various customers. The company’s success is based on the proper use of agile project management tools, emphasizing the moral management of collaboration, teamwork, hiring the right people, accountable and responsible members, and self-discipline in the decision-making process. Despite challenges accompanied by the agile tool’s use, such as bad experiences with agile methods and different cultures, companies conflict with the Agile tool methods.
