Definition: Ethical awareness is defined as the ability or eagerness of the people to designate the moral situations and dilemmas, critically evaluate, analyze, change moral esteem of other people, and determine the effort of one people on attitude for lives of other people. It is important for the business’s proper functioning, and chances of getting success also increased by increasing the rate of ethical awareness among employees.
Summary: Turegun et al. conducted a study in 2018 to determine ethical awareness on the ethical decision-making process. The data was collected from the responses of different surveys based on the seven-point Likert Scale and was further analyzed with explanatory factor analysis. It has been determined from the research that ethical awareness is important for different functions of the organizations because it helps in implementing appropriate strategies. It concluded that making ethical decisions is increased due to ethical awareness in the organization among employees. The purpose of selecting this article was to find the relationship between ethical awareness and the ethical decision-making process. The competition rate has been increased in the market, and different organizations are trying to attract more customers to increase growth in the market. The success depends on the ethical awareness of employees because it helps the organization make good relationships with the customers; thus, they become satisfied with the organization (Türegün, 2018).
Discussion: I have found from different research articles that ethical awareness is important for the employees because it helps the organization make good relations with the customers. This point has become proved from this article because it is mentioned in the article that ethical awareness is important not only for the organization but also for employees. I have found different examples that have claimed that employees’ unethical behavior within the organization results in different problems for the organizations. Some of these issues include unethical leadership, harassment and discrimination, conflicting goals, and toxic workplace culture. It has been found that women are also taking part in business, and the number of women and men has become equal in the organizations. When the employees are not aware of ethical behavior, they tried to harass the female workers in the organization. As a result, the chances of failure of the organization are increased. The ethical awareness of employees and management helps the organization in reducing such conflict. Ethical awareness motivates them to make effective decisions within the workplace that can be beneficial not only for the organization but also for working appropriately. It has been determined from the research that ethical awareness has become an important need of the organization. The governments of different countries are trying to motivate their workers to get awareness about ethical decisions. The main purpose of getting ethical awareness is to make the environment comfortable in the organization. I have experienced that the employees can work innovatively when they get a good work environment and a good environment need ethical awareness and practice. The article has also arisen this point that ethical awareness is important for the organization. The rate of competition has been increased in the market. Therefore, all the organizations are trying to increase the rate of innovation. According to my perspective, organizations should motivate their employees to understand ethics in the organization.
