Dr. Dannet Brown
Colorado Technical University
September 2020
I learned a lot throughout my journey to complete this class. Everything was new to me, which gave me the opportunity to gain more skills. The research problem is an essential part of the doctoral student dissertation. I have made a problem statement to articulate the problem, I will presume in my dissertation (Andrade et al.,2017). The study purpose was a meaningful part of this class; it enables me to shape my ideas and tools that will help me to conduct the dissertation. Furthermore, I learned the appropriate research method that will help to conduct a dissertation successfully. Lastly, the literature review plan opens my eyes to critical professional articles relevant to my dissertation topic.
The guideline of Dr. Brown’s live chats, emails, and office hours calling was a practical tool that helped shape my research prospects. Dr. Brown worked side-by-side with me to clear the problem statement to redefine the research topic concept. Also, Dr. Brown guided me on creating a research question and making it clear and researchable. Lastly, Dr. Brown and her tools put me on the right track of what appropriate research method. Up to date, I am waiting to get final approval and suggestion to move forward for RES862 (Andrade et al., 2017). The biggest challenge was conducting a research proposal from nothing and making it look something presentable. Since I started my doctoral journey, I was not that close to research topics, problem statements, study purpose, research questions, research methods, and literature review plans.
Many concerns still exist when I am thinking about starting the desertion process and how to apply research prospectus outlines to the actual study (Andrade et al., 20117). I will keep thinking deeply. I am still thinking about developing the research perspective, which will enable me to conduct an efficient study that supports management and organization development and change field.
