Healthy Diet
A healthy diet assists in the prevention of some particular long-term diseases such as stroke, heart diseases, diabetes, and many more diseases. The body of a human being requires energy for it to function normally and to keep the individual alive. To ensure that my body is always healthy, I must have my definition of a healthy diet, find out whether my diet is healthy, and analyze what is healthy and unhealthy about my current diet.
My definition of a healthy diet is that kind of food that always makes me feel great, the one that helps in improving my health as well as boosting my moods. A healthy diet is not just depriving of the food that you love most or instead of staying unrealistically thin, just like most people may think. A healthy diet does not have to be complicated, but whenever you are overwhelmed by the food, then that is a healthy diet — taking a diet that is close to how nature made it will surely make you change your thinking and look.
There is no single food that contains all the nutrients that we require to be healthy. What makes my diet healthy is the variety of foods that I take. Some foods might have higher nutrients than others; hence, having many meals, then it increases your chances of having a healthy diet (Robinson, 2019). I take a variety of vegetables as opposed to just taking two or even three types of vegetables. My healthy diet always helps me to think better, as well as feel better.
What makes my current diet healthy is how I ensure that I have at least taken two oily fishes in every week, how I regularly take whole nuts as well as grains, and how I have replaced. I also ensure that the amount of salt in my food is always low, and I make sure I have taken at least five portions of vegetables as well as fruit daily (Tidy, 2016). What makes my diet unhealthy are the commercially produced foods that I usually take, and that tends to have higher salt saturations. Another unhealthy diet is the frequent taking of sugar-sweetened drinks.
