Education Study Plan

Driven by the passion for learning new things, I took a career in the health field as a nurse. I feel happy and satisfied every day when I make a difference in the patients’ lives and their families. Having the background knowledge of the challenges underlying the nursing career, I decided to take up to the task of dealing with the various aspects of patients’ care encountered in the routine activities of nursing. My interest in nursing grew stronger in Amarillo Community college, where I earned an associate’s degree in nursing from August 2001 to December 2005. The college education laid the foundation for me in my nursing career.

After graduation, I took a national licensing examination, and I was issued with a nursing license in April 2006. This license allowed me to work at the entry-level positions in nursing before securing a job as the CNO/Administrator and Chief Quality Officer at the Central Hospital of Bowie. For the past five years, I have been the leader of a quality team responsible for the achievement of continuous improvements in the hospital. These leadership responsibilities have allowed me to gain the minimum required years of experience of a chief quality officer (CQO) in the health field. Currently, since December of 2018, I have been an employee at my facility.

Given that the demand for nursing professionals is increasing gradually, my goal is to advance in my nursing education. I am targeting to achieve a Bachelors in Nursing by December 2020 at the University of Texas at Arlington. Additionally, I am aiming at attaining my Masters in healthcare administration from the same university by May 2022. I believe that advancements in my education will open the doors to more nursing opportunities for me.
