Communication
Communication is essential for all kinds of patients. The patients have different abilities and preferences, and it is almost impossible to find a healthcare institution where all the patients there have similar interests. While some appreciate the quietness and maybe a book to read to take their minds from their illness’s reality, some are always looking for a company to take them off their sorrow and loneliness. In my opinion, the best media method for communicating effectively with patients is through YouTube videos.
YouTube videos are often enjoyable to watch, and their messages are easy to understand. Unlike in the early days, when the internet was not just a common thing, people can now access the internet whenever they want. There are many content creators, and their work is revolutionizing the modes of communication for the current world. The content creators develop videos that are appealing to the patients, and watching them gives them hope for a better tomorrow. The funny clips also give them a reason to laugh while still in their hospital beds and wards.
The videos are also accessible from anywhere, and patients can learn how to live healthily without having to enquire from the doctors and their caregivers. Some doctors have decided to become vloggers and create content to share through the internet. Through their videos on healthy living for people to say with Diabetes, people can have a healthy life with the condition. The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) is a good example of an institution that educates patients on preventing and treating this kind of infection. Their content has helped thousands of patients and healthcare givers live peacefully.
The videos help both patients and those at risk take care of their day to day activities. People did not know much about COVID 19 except the government’s information through national television and some social media sites. YouTube videos were, however, easily accessed by everybody. As individuals protect themselves from the infection, the measures to take as advised by all countries was a great move. Unlike forms of communication like television shows and social media, the patient selects the content they see best fits their characters and taste. Although social media has had its fair share in reaching clients’ information, many vices come with it like the fact that it can provide discouraging messages to patients, which could make them lose hope in their chances to heal.
In conclusion, YouTube is the best media method for communicating effectively with patients. It is flexible, easy to use, and meant for all kinds of people. The rates at which YouTube videos have changed the world of medicine and home treatment is high, and I would recommend that experts work more on these videos since they are revolutionary.
