Week 2
Participatory action research is an approach to inquiry, where both the researcher and the participants are actively engaged in seeking a solution to an underlying problem. The effort and input of both parties, therefore, comes in handy in finding the most suitable solution. One such research is the one conducted by Stockings et al. (2016) that focused on countermeasures to reducing, preventing, and treatment of drug and substance abuse-related conditions in the country. The research is considered participatory action research since the authors sought the input of the affected population in figuring out the current position and future approaches that could be applied in reducing the adverse effects of the social vice. Rather than relying on existing literature, the research collected data and information from primary sources that would come in handy in proposing and implementing new changes.

Week 3
The Australian government is keen on the mental health of its citizenry, and there have been tremendous efforts towards improving the mental wellbeing of the Australian populace with input from both the private and public sectors. Lifestyle choices have been attributed to the exacerbation and prevalence of mental health disorders, which forms the basis for my research topic.
Research topic – An inquiry into the relationship between lifestyle choices and the prevalence of mental disorders among the working class in Adelaide Australia: An ethnographic study.
