A research proposal on helmet safety for motorcyclists
The study aims to investigate the injury and fatality levels among motorcyclists concerning wearing a helmet. The research questions will seek to determine whether or not a helmet offers safety to motorcyclists (Hofmann et al., 2018). For instance, does helmet provide safety to motorcyclists? The statement of the problem will describe the increased cases of the neck, face, and brain injuries as a result of motorcycle accidents. The study hypothesis will test for the level of significance of helmet wearing among motorcyclists. For instance, the alternate hypothesis will state, the use of helmets affects brain injury and death outcomes in motorcyclists. The study findings will inform on policy recommendations with regards safety of motorcyclists as well as determine the compliance of state regulations on the safety of motorcyclists. Additionally, the study will also assess the effectiveness of intervention measures for the protection of motorcyclists.
The study will utilize survey reports and interview methods to obtain information from research participants. The study population is the motorcyclists, and the study outcomes include adherence to wearing of helmets (Faryabi et al., 2014). The interview method will entail open-ended questions that will aid to solicit data from the respondent who are motorcyclists. The interview will for the research participant’s opinions. The questionnaire method will assist in collecting quantitative data. In this case, quantitative data will consist of ratings according to the level of agreement. For instance, a closed-ended question may ask how motorcyclists prefer to use helmets. The questions may ask whether they agree, strongly agree, or not agree. Then a scoring system is used to analyze the output given by the respondents.
