Addressing Conflicts and Trauma

Dealing with the aftermath of tragedy is a difficult situation. The administrator worked with staff to attain “normalcy” after the traumatic event, although it was challenging and difficult. Apart from giving staff the support they needed, the administrator considered the impact of the event on the clients. The administrator intergraded their administrative and clinical social skills to intervene at different levels in the organization departments. Also, the administrator developed a plan of action to deal with conflict resolution while supporting the clients, staff, and other stakeholders to give them closure and move forward from the traumatic experience.

The administrator used problem-solving skills, where she acknowledged and recognized the absence of Carla at work. She notified the law enforcers about Carla’s absence, where she requested a welfare check at her apartment. She showed empathy to the staff and was attentive to clients as well. She addressed the scenario with confidentiality regarding the clients and cases Carla worked with. This ties up with conflict resolution as she was quite adamant in sharing personal information (Northouse, 2018). However, she was cooperative towards communicating with the law enforcers about the safe and necessary information.

In my case, death is difficult to grasp and understand as I dwell on the circumstances for a long time. It is difficult for one to control their personal feelings in such a case while helping to comfort others in such a traumatic situation. This situation would be challenging for me, especially given the task of delivering the news to the clients and staff who worked closely with the victim. Nobody is happy when others are hurting, but this situation is confusing following nature and circumstances that led to her death.
