Admission Essay
The community and the environment in which one grows highly determines his/her character. I grew up in a Christian family. During my childhood, I interacted with a lot of people of the Christian faith. My parents were firm believers and believed in assisting the less fortunate and suffering in the community.
Through Christianity, I have learned the importance of helping the needy in the community. Christian teachings uphold charity. The Bible argues that assisting one another is an act that pleases the creator. Thus, I have grown up as someone who delights in helping those who are facing various sufferings. I have participated in multiple charitable functions aimed at helping the poor in the community. During the COVID-19 pandemic, my family and I contributed $2000 to take care of those badly affected by the pandemic. Our contributions were purposed to cater to the primary necessities of the people whose income sources were interrupted by the pandemic and had no other source of sustaining themselves.
My intention for pursuing a nursing career is to take care of patients in chronic and acute conditions. I love humanity, and I respect human dignity. I want to devote all my life to helping human beings cope up with chronic and acute conditions. The nursing career is very demanding, and thus a lot of commitment is needed (Sinutko, 2020). I want to specialize in cancer management. I want to reduce human suffering as a result of the infection. I am devoted to working hard to ensure that cancer does not cause much suffering to humanity.
I love my community because it has taught me valuable life aspects. Furthermore, my community has helped me in defining my purpose in life.
