Use of color in David Lynch films
David Lynch is popularly known due to his enigmatic filmmaking expertise. He has employed various cinematic styles, which has made his movies remain relevant after a long period of launching. The methodologies in his films recreate the vision in him all times at the screen. The films are driven by contrast of light and darkness. The successful blend of exceptional cinematography and different stories in the movie that are character-driven makes his work extraordinary (Delvin and Biderman 1).
Determining colors to use in a film may be difficult. To ensure the accent color will serve perfectly with the same emphasis as the prevailing color scheme in the conformation, there is a need to select two comparable colors and another one entirely different compared to others. Color style is very crucial in filmmaking and how one part with different color connect with another with different color form (Carrera 11).
The use of many films indicates a significant change from one situation to another. This is achieved by using a combination of colors that can be black or white. It can even be shifting to a color that is dissimilar but with an accent to the transitioning stage. The velvet film by David Lynch, the visual elements, features pulsating color palette as well as dark sequences. The Eraserhead film by David lynch has heavily relied on formal and thematic skills that are familiar inside a horror genre. It is aimed at engendering magical effects. Therefore, in terms of aesthetics, there is a blend of expressionism and surrealism that looks powerful. The illuminating color, black and white, foster the environment that brings a picture of man suffering (Sheen and Davidson 5).
