Application for Dental Hygienist program at Plaza College
My passion for cosmetics and beauty has always led me to develop an interest in dental hygiene and cosmetic dentistry. Dental health refers to the general practice of keeping the mouth healthy and cleaning by regularly brushing and flossing to avoid gum and teeth diseases. Cosmetic dentistry, on the other hand, is the procedure conducted to enhance the looks of the teeth and mouth (Alani et al. 543). I am currently pursuing a short course in dental assisting at the New York School of Medical and Dental Assistants. I will graduate from the institution on October 19th, 2020, with a certificate and license in dental assisting. Getting accepted for the dental hygienist program at Plaza College will be a dream come true for me for several reasons.
Plaza College is a reputable institution, especially among the people of New York, who always praise their Dental Hygienists Programs. Following their recommendations, I realized that they must have taken keen observations on the quality of the programs offered and the services of the graduates from the college. Therefore. It would be my greatest pleasure to join the college in January 2021. My passion in the dental field is my main drive to pursue the program in one of the best colleges in New York as an advancement for my studies.
I also hold a crucial position as the current president of the dental class 2020 in New York School of Medical and Dental Assistants. The institution is vast, and thus being a leader in the school requires a sense of leadership and responsibility. Being part of the student’s council requires excellent social and communication skills so that one can get to balance between service to the students and studying. As the president, I have acquired a lot of individuals and professional expertise that have contributed to getting me ready for my next educational level.
Another reason why I would like to join Plaza College in January 2021 is that I decided to quit procrastinating my plans. On April 3rd of this year, I, unfortunately, lost my grandfather, and the incident acted as an eye-opener. My grandfather was a great person who always insisted that I should still go after my passion and choose a career path that suits my interests. His demise made me realize that life is too short to keep postponing my plans. Therefore, as a focused individual, I decided to fulfill my grandfather’s wishes and follow his advice and head straight into dental hygiene after school.
Additionally, I am always motivated to prove the famous quote, “disability is not inability,” have grown with Erb’s Palsy. Erb’s Palsy refers to the disorder of the hand resulting from an injury of the upper trunk of the brachial plexus that mostly occurs during pregnancy due to a birth emergency called shoulder dystocia (Singh, Pragyan, & Kolamala 14). My condition hinders some of my movements that makes most people look at me differently. However, my state has motivated me to work harder and prove the people that imply that I am not fit to pursue my goals that I am just as strong as anyone else. I decided to look past my disability and fix my mind on my goals in the dental sector.
Being differently-abled and holding a leadership position has shaped me into a focused and hardworking individual who needs to pursue their goals. My motivation has directed me to apply for a job at Plaza College, which I believe is the best institution that will help me achieve my goals. I think that this institution will shape me into one of the best professional cosmetic dentists in New York and beyond.
