I believe I very well suite the position since have previously worked in various institutions from governmental, non-governmental and private firms, where I gathered the experience in working with diverse teams and in tackling any challenges that arise therein. The experience I gathered from the sustainable blue economy conference, believe will enable me not only to be inclined on the marine environment but also to evaluate and come up with permanent solutions in regards to climate change induced drought, of the dry areas of Kenya. The marine environment, for instance, it took excellent coordination, strategies and sacrifice to ensure that the exploitation that was being practised over the years was controlled. This was to prevent hazardous exploitation of the same, which could lead to the extinction of some species found in the water, as we also consider its impact on the economy. These strategies were not only to be beneficial to the current generations, but we were also looking at the more exceptional picture of the ages to come and their well-being.
Nevertheless, when selected for this position, I will ensure that we dive to the root cause of drought in these dry areas. This will be by evaluating the magnitude of change that is brought about by certain seasons of the year. By this, I will be able to come up with strategies of preserving water by either building dams that can hold enough water throughout the four seasons, thus allowing irrigation. I also will advise on the construction of boreholes that will provide enough water for consumption for the residents of these dry areas and their animals too throughout the year. This will extinguish drought, and the statistics of deaths brought about by drought both on human beings and to their livestock will be significantly reduced.
Finally, I will consult with the administrative bodies that are responsible for the well being of people living in this areas to develop ways of sensitizing them on modern means of living and preservation and sustenance of life wholesomely. This with the help I’ll request from other aiding organizations example of the United Nations Development Programme, will go a long way in helping the residents of these areas.
