The Advocate published the article on 4th February 2021. The fundamental values are justice and humanity. In my opinion, this article helps the reader to understand the dilemmas that the courtroom is bound to go through and the role of criminal justice in homicides. According to Barnett et al. (2010, p.47-48), the patriarchy theory states that men hold greater power than women, and thus women are always bound to be the victim. This is also in line with the feminist theory, where gender has to be factored in domestic violence cases. However, this is not the case with this article as the woman turns out to be more dangerous, killing the man. As a social worker, I would intervene to ensure that the child the woman had with the man is okay and well taken care of.
