Details:
You are required to identify an organisation and their diversity management practices. Provide brief information about the company- Details like age, industry, areas of operation, number of employees and demographic distribution. You can use an organisation that you are or have worked for or choose an organisation that you can find the relevant information from either online or personal sources. You do not have to use the official name of the organisation if you do not wish to.
- Identify the diversity initiatives and practices that your chosen organisation have had in place, and structure your essay to address the followingquestions;
- What diversity management practices do theyhave?
- How effective have these practicesbeen?
- Referring back to Thomas & Ely (1996) and Dass & Parker (1999) articles, which of the discussed paradigms do you think the organisation best fitsinto
- What would you recommend the organisation does to improve their diversity management, andWhy?
Remember, not all organisations, especially some of the smaller organisations would have formal diversity management practices in place. You can either focus on any one dimension of diversity within the organisation for e.g. gender, OR attempt to include multiple such as Age, Ethnicity etc.

- Make sure that you submit a essay that flows well.
- Take care when using material from written sources (such as the textbook, report, articles in business magazines, journal papers). Make sure to use your own words. Do not directly copy or quote from books or articles or papers or websites, but paraphrase using your own words.
- Make sure to reference all sources you use. Remember that Flinders Business uses Harvard style referencing which means you need to reference in the text (‘in-text referencing’) and also include a reference list. If you are unsure about referencing conventions, please contact the Library or the Student Learning Centre for help.
- Use academic language and good writing style in order to communicate clearly. Being able to communicate well is vital for participating effectively in the workplace. The reader expects a well-written report.
- Make the report looks appropriate and professional. Thismeans:
- Grammatically correct and free of typos
- Use pagenumbering
- Use standard font and font size (e.g., 12 New Times Roman font or equivalent)
- Avoid colour or colouredfont
- Use 1.5 line spacing with 2.54 cm margins and Justified text (distribute evenly towards the margins)
- Use single line spacing in the reference list and the list should be ordered alphabetically
- Include a title page which includes yourname
- Keep the document in a Wordformat
- Only relevant pictures, photos, images, graphics can be added to the text.
