Instructions: a) Sign up to and then participate in one event with the Student Volunteer Army (or similar) during the semester. You can find their schedule of events and information for signing up here: http://www.sva.org.nz/ (If you have another idea for a place you can volunteer, please have your lecturer give you permission). b) After your experience, you will write a reflection paper that includes the following: i. Date and address of where the experience took place. ii. Length of time you were there. iii. Brief description of the setting and experience. iv. What area of sustainability this experience embodies and what challenges it addresses. Discuss how you know this. v. How might business become involved with this experience in the future and what challenges would they face in doing this? vi. How could your volunteer experience become a green job? vii. Concluding comments. c) Remember to relate your experience to the literature/course material. This means you might have to search for relevant literature using the library databases. If you need help with this please come and see me. APA formatted referencing is expected as well as a reference list.
