Introduction
I am interested in becoming a priming school teacher of English upon my successful completion of my degree in psychology. Teaching career is customarily placed under the education sector in the public service commission institution. In most cases, the government directly funds the activities of such an industry through which the teachers employed in this category earn their income. In some cases, private schools present can also offer opportunities to graduates who have not yet got into the government sector. However, job security in the private sector is not guaranteed as a person can quickly get sacked upon the agreement by the school board. Teachers can also work in various organizations, including prisons and hospitals, through which they display their competitiveness in winning the vulnerable groups excluded from the rest of society.
Teachers stand t to be essential people in society as they help a great deal in shaping other people’s lives. They instill skills and knowledge to the young people such that they get empowered to face hardships in life. The need to adapt communication and leadership skills in the literature puts the teaching professional at a competitive edge, and people customarily admire to be partakers. The English teacher who have either completed BED or PGCE, for instance, are qualified instrumental people in the society as they take part in teaching language fluency and also in writing at elementary schools.
My interest
I have always admired to be a teacher for my past years, even before chooses to take my teaching career at the university. I got motivation from my mother, who is also a teacher at a primary school in the neighborhood. With her determination and dedication to work, I have grown to know that the teachers are responsible members of the society, and they can grow independently regardless of their status. I am raised in a single-family where my mother is the sole breadwinner. Further, I got further experience while undertaking my project in linguistics in my second year. I learned that my resilience in learning about language and transferring the same skills to other people act as building blocks for success. These experiences have not only impacted on my aptitude in attaining communication skills but have also enhanced my problem solving and decision-making skills but also awarded me with real satisfaction that I will one day achieve my dream.
I prefer to focus on being a primary school teacher of English when I complete my studies at any school that I will get a vacancy. I will consider the writer an academy of a public school as long as I will be able to gain experience and deliver my skills and knowledge to the young people. I understand that it is hard to find a job, especially after completing studies. Still, I am determined that I have excellent employability skills that the employers will like regardless of the position that they will choose to put me. Additionally, I consider being a volunteer teacher before I land into the job market so that I will develop the necessary skills to attend to the young people
Moreover, attending university and choosing to pursue psychology in education predisposed me to several approaches needed in the teaching sector. I am aware that my career path will require the employability of these approaches. As a great mentor to the young children, I prefer to partake in motivating them too work hard and be positive in life. In inspiring them to work hard, I will be able to attain success in my career path. More importantly, I anticipate better results in the next five years of my career path. I know that the first job that I will land into will be challenging, being the first place to have hands-on experience in the job market. However, I am motivated to be the best English teacher that the other teachers and the children will admire.
In my previous teaching practice experience, I learned that leadership skills are essential for a primary school teacher. I took my time to participate in the co-curricular activities that made me gain recognition from the school management. I rose in leadership, and I got some little pay even when I worked as a student. I received feedback from my colleagues informing me that I am a good listener and adviser. I felt that this reflected my mentoring capability hat helped me build professional relationships in the workplace. To be employable, I understand that possessing such skills will make one competitive during their career path in the job market.

Most primary school teachers in the United Kingdom qualify either PGCE or BEd. The fundamental skills needed in this sector include adorable interpersonal and excellent communication skills and proper time management and organizational skills. One needs to have a captivating language so that the pupils enjoy the learning experience. Being young people, there is some information that is strictly intended for them.it is, therefore, the teachers’ responsibility to ensure that their children attain the information required for employment in their daily lives.
Cremin and Arthur (2014) depict that being a primary teacher needs a lot of composures. This is because of channeling the same information across diverse populations of children with different levels of grasping ideas. In his research, varying outcomes indicate how the teacher has the most significant responsibility of bringing the fast learning pupils and the slow learners to be at par. This presents complexity in my career dream that prepares me for the future. As a result, I am bound to think that efficiency in teaching is attained through the capability of coming up with unique ways to attend to every pupil at the primary level.
Having attained my bachelor of art degree as an English teacher at the primary level at the University of Chester, I am motivated to get employment in the teaching sector. This is coupled with the relevant skills that I attained at Yanbian University and the high school of liberal arts as a teaching assistant. During the holidays, I did a part-time job as a customer cashier at the Holiday inn in China. This showcased that I was motivated enough to gain other relevant skills that helped in gaining positive inter-personal skills. I am a cheerful and goal-oriented individual that made me successful as a cashier during my holiday sessions. Attending to people from across the global networks at the Holiday Inn restaurant reflected on my capability to put into practice my excellent communication skills. This adequately prepares me to attend to people in the teaching profession and especially the teachers and pupils of English. Working at a radio station editorial office is indicative that I am trustworthy, and my writing skills are excellent. The senior managers recorded the success of these institutions, and certificates of good work were presented to me. It is reflective that I have a superb predisposition to working conditions in matters of communication, leadership, and management. I can exercise such effectively as a primary school teacher.
According to Merrifield (2013), employability skills are imperative for the development and deliberation of the young teachers and employers of today. In this paper, the need to develop necessary skills and knowledge increases the chances of getting employment in the field of study even with the competitiveness. The young people and teachers acquire expertise in their respective cadres and employ them in their Resume during a career job hunt period. The literature in this article depicts employability skills as those that evolve from work relationships such as leadership, communication, and teamwork. The possession of unique transferable skills attains navigation through the career market to the target audiences. Merrifield (2013) also clearly illustrates how good education goes in tandem with better communication skills to achieve employability.
Primary teaching in the UK as reports indicate is coupled up will a list of skills shortages that leave most of the positions vacant. The availability of most of the vacancies in primary school teaching sectors indicates that the prospective applicants fail to fill the gaps due to lack of relevant qualifications, skills, or experience in attend to the young children in schools. Among the prospects are the needs for excellent interpersonal and communication abilities that play critical functions in the education teacher. It is depicted that the teacher’s ability to form and manage relationships with other people within the environment contributes to the pupil’s social development. As cited by Yang, Bear, and May (2018), social-emotional learning approach stands out to be yielding to the positive grades for the pupils. In my mentoring capacity during my teaching practice, I realized that relationship building is a crucial factor that contributes to the positive engagement of a child to learning approaches. One of the pupils proved to be withdrawn in class and failed to engage with the other pupils in reading levels. I, therefore, took my time, sat him down, and participated in talks, whereby we built a positive relationship. I discovered that he was a stammer and was once bullied by others in the class that made him shy away from participating in learning activities. I took keen responsibility for monitoring and appreciating him before everyone in their class made him positive. In using this analogy, one can understand that every child’s behavior has a cause, and I am the teacher’s responsibility to engage with such pupils and encourage them o grow socially.
Embracing the latest technological developments through nurturing digital skills is also imperative for the primary schools’ teachers. It helps to attain a broad approach to attend to the pupils’ learning needs. Learning styles are also modified upon the adoption of a wide array of technologies that enhances the incorporation of decisions to make the pupils empowered. Barriers of social distancing, especially in the COVID-19 pandemic times as at now, zooms and skype are important modes to deliver content t the pupils. The teachers should, therefore, be competent technologically to attend to the pupil’s needs during such exceptional times.
I had the interest to explore the organizational culture and values of the schools that I had applied for a teaching position. I wanted to get an assurance that their values were in tandem with mine so that conflicts would be minimal. All I wanted was to get a guarantee that these school environments provided security to the pupils such that they would be comfortable to concentrate and produce excellent results at the end. These schools, therefore, proved to encourage respect prevalence is among the pupils and their teachers in regards to their variabilities. This is leeway to obtaining good results from responsible pupils at the end. These values, therefore, match my own because I am a respecter of humanity, and I understand that people who grow in respect tend to go far in life. Focusing on getting employment frim schools full of integrity eases the mode of content delivery to the pupils. As a consequence, employability centralizes the ability to attend to the pupils through the installation of knowledge skills, and values that help them to be successful in life.
Conclusion
In undertaking this analysis, I have learned that being a primary school teacher requires a wide range of skills that need to be combined to achieve fruitful results. I have learned that career development is continuous, and a lot of things are learned with changing times. I am now aware that teaching in primary school and particular English needs adequacy in communication and interpersonal skills. It is imperative to understand the pupil’s abilities to perform in class through the employment of these communication skills. Being a good listener is termed as an aptitude that is tested during the recruitment interviews to help in the careful placement of the teachers to their respective departments in schools. The technological revolution is also making me realize that being a primary school teacher needs a lot of digital skills to help in creating value to the pupil’s needs. I have learned that the right school showcases values that need to be agreed upon by the teachers. In this regard, I think I will consider some practical training sessions to help me adhere to the rules attached to the job vacancy in my school of choice. However, in my volunteering capacity, I realized that it is essential to give equal chances to the performance of each pupil as a teacher who sees it rewarding to teach English at a primary level.
