Balanced Diet
- We need to eat a variety of food to keep our bodies active and energized to take part in our daily activities that are sometimes strenuous and require us to use a lot of energy. Taking a variety of food every day offers a person the opportunity to get the essential nutrients necessary to help us grow healthy.
- One of the most accessible nutrients to obtain from our diets include carbohydrates because most of our diets revolve around eating junk food, which is high in carbohydrates. In my diet, one of the most difficult nutrients to find is vitamins because I am not a huge fan of vegetables like kale or broccoli. I occasionally have a salad when I am not in the mood for a burger or pizza.
- I do not believe I have a balanced diet during my meals. As a student, I am constantly busy trying to complete an assignment or two, meet my colleagues for group discussions and attending classes. Thus, I tend to order food that is easily accessible, like pizza or an easy to prepare a meal that does not consume a lot of time to prepare, such as noodles. These foods do not offer all the necessary nutrients to be considered a balanced diet. After watching the video, I intend to change my eating habits in the future and make an effort to include vegetables and fruits in my diet, which provide vitamins.
