History records the brutality faced by the LGBT people in the United States. The thrash was mainly on the lesbians, the gays, bisexuals and the transgender people (Bonnie, 2019).These categories of people subjected to violence since they were accused of violating the rules by going against the aspect of sexual orientation that advocated attraction to the opposite sex. Both number of violence and deaths has been on the rise following the religious beliefs and political vies including other related factors.
The violence against the LGBT people began back in 1969 down the line to 2019. Since then, a lot of people have died. There was one incident occurred in Dover Hotel in Los Angeles where a gay man by the name Howard Efland was brutally beaten by the Los Angeles Police to the extent of losing his life. In another scenario, a gay bar was burned in New Orleans that led to the death of 32 people. Sometimes later a throng of youths invaded central park area targeting homosexuals leading to injury of many people. Hate crime also plays a major role as people are subjected to violation based on their social groups like gender, religion, race and ethnicity.
Rebecca Wight together with her partner has shot death simply because they were having homosexual relations. During the same period, two gay men Tommy and Griffin were tortured before shot. A gay Vietnam by the name Zappalorti was stabbed to death in New York. Shortly after these killings, Julio Rivera was beaten with a hammer and later stabbed by a knife simply because he was gay. Two teenage boys murdered Arthur Warren. After arrested they claimed that the diseased was spreading rumours that they were having a sexual relationship.
Amanda a Latina Trans woman aged 29 was strangled to death by Rasheen who later drenches her body with bleach. Not long, Toni Alston, a transgender woman was shot just in front of her door in Northern California. Another woman namely Dana who was working as a prostitute was killed simply because she was a trans- woman. Her client fired three bullets in her head and abandoned the body in the pavement.
